Our programs were created to fill a gap in our community by offering inclusive, real-world experiences that inspire confidence, growth, and a true sense of belonging.

ABOUT FUNCTIONAL FRIENDS THERAPY SERVICES LLC

Occupational Therapy (OT)

Our occupational therapy services aim to improve the lives of children by promoting functional independence in childhood occupations through play-based therapeutic interventions. Skills that can be addressed include fine motor, bilateral coordination, visual perception, self-care, body awareness, social skills, executive functioning, and self-regulation.

Our services can be provided to children of all ages and with various diagnoses including but not limited to Developmental Delay, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD, Down Syndrome and Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD). 

who may benefit from occupational therapy:

• Fine motor delays (i.e. handwriting, coloring, cutting, manipulating small objects)
• Attention, focus, and executive functioning
• Sensory processing
• Emotional Regulation and coping skills
• Visual motor and visual perceptual skills
• Self-care skills (i.e. dressing, feeding,
grooming, toileting)
• Feeding challenges or picky eating
• Motor planning and coordination
• Social participation and play skills
• Building confidence & independence in daily routines

Occupational therapy helps children develop the skills needed for everyday activities, independence, and emotional regulation.

OT may support children who have difficulty with:

Speech and Language Therapy (SLP): 

Our speech-language therapy services aim to improve functional communication for all age groups to increase interaction and independence in a variety of settings. Skills that can be addressed include articulation, motor speech, expressive and receptive language, social communication, stuttering, and augmentative and alternative communication means.

Our services can be provided to children of all ages and with various diagnosis including but not limited to Developmental Delay, Expressive-Receptive Language Disorder, Social Communication Disorder, Apraxia of Speech, Phonological Disorder, Autism, Cerebal Palsy, and Down Syndrome.

who may benefit from speech therapy:

• Early language development delays
• Expressive language (using words to communicate needs and ideas)
• Receptive language (understanding directions and information)
• Articulation and speech clarity
• Speech sound disorders
• Social communication and pragmatic language skills
• Conversational turn taking and perspective talking
• Stuttering or fluency concerns
• Feeding and oral motor skills
• Literacy-related language skills (phonological awareness, pre-reading skills)

Speech-language therapy helps children develop communication skills for connection, learning, and self-expression.

Speech therapy may support children who have difficulty with:

Functional Friends currently accepts cash, credit card and FSA/HSA. We currently accept Medicaid but not any of the medicaid commercial plans quite yet (still working on this)! 

We also accept waivers from Montgomery County and Warren County for families enrolled in Family Supportive Services. If you are part of Family Supportive Services, please reach out to your service coordinator to request funds for Functional Friends Therapy Services LLC.

If requested, we are able to provide an invoice that can be submitted to insurance to obtain reimbursement. This does not guarantee that the insurance provider will pay for the services, as each insurance company and insurance plan varies. It is your responsibility to contact your insurance company to see what they may cover as well as provide them with Superbill invoices.
